Exploring, lifting, loving—and doing it all with one kidney and a full heart.

This is where I share the wild, weird, and wonderful pieces of life after donation—from dusty trails to deadlift platforms, from photo-finish races to quiet canyon sunrises.

What does Kaci have coming up?

One of the greatest gifts of living kidney donation is the reminder that life is meant to be lived fully. For me, that means movement, adventure, and showing what’s possible with one kidney and a determined heart.
Every mile I ride and every challenge I take on is part of a bigger mission: raising awareness for living organ donation and encouraging others to believe in what their bodies can do.
Here are a few of the adventures currently on my horizon.

Top of Texas Heritage Ride
April 25, 2026
This spring I’ll be riding in the Top of Texas Heritage Ride, a cycling event that celebrates the history and landscapes of the Texas Panhandle.
Events like this are about more than distance or speed. They’re about community, fresh air, and the simple joy of turning the pedals.
Every ride is also another opportunity to share the message that living kidney donors can continue to live active, adventurous lives.

Transplant Games of America
June 18-23, 2026 – Denver, Colorado
This summer I’ll be traveling to Denver for the Transplant Games of America.
The Games bring together transplant recipients, living donors, donor families, and supporters from across the country to celebrate the power of organ donation through sport.
It’s an incredible reminder that organ donation doesn’t just save lives — it gives people the chance to live them fully.
I’ll be competing as part of Team Texas, surrounded by athletes whose stories are powerful, inspiring, and deeply moving.

The Next Big Adventure (In the Works)
Behind the scenes, I’m also training for a long-distance endurance cycling challenge that will take place in the future.
For now, that adventure is still under wraps.
What I can say is that it will push my limits, expand my endurance, and continue the mission of showing what’s possible with one kidney and a stubborn streak of determination.
Stay tuned.

One Kidney. Endless Miles.
Living kidney donation didn’t make my life smaller.
If anything, it made it bigger.
Every ride, every challenge, and every mile is a reminder that strength and generosity can change lives — sometimes in ways we never expect.

☀️ Sunshine Says
Your body is capable of more than you think.
And sometimes the biggest adventures begin with a single brave decision.

Whether I’m roller skating in the canyon, training for a new competition, or chasing sunsets with my grandbabies, these adventures are proof that one kidney can carry a whole lot of joy.
