FAQs
Because love is big—but planning doesn’t have to be.
Are you legally ordained to perform weddings?
Yes! I’m an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church and fully authorized to perform legal marriage ceremonies in the state of Texas (and many other states as well). I’ll make sure everything is handled so your “I do” is official.
Do you travel outside Amarillo or Palo Duro Canyon?
Yes! I’m happy to travel across the Texas Panhandle and beyond. Travel within 100 miles of Amarillo is included in most packages. For locations outside that range, I’ll provide a custom quote based on distance and availability.
Can you help us write our vows?
Of course! Whether you need help getting started or want a second set of eyes on what you’ve written, I’m here to guide and support you through the process. I also offer vow coaching as part of several ceremony packages.
What if we want a spiritual but not religious ceremony?
Totally okay! I specialize in personalized ceremonies—religious, non-religious, spiritual, or somewhere in between. We’ll work together to create something that reflects your beliefs and values.
Can we include our kids, pets, or a unity ritual in the ceremony?
Yes, yes, and yes! I love helping families weave their unique story into the ceremony. From unity candles to sand ceremonies to including your pup as the ring bearer—we can absolutely make it yours.
Do you attend rehearsals?
For traditional weddings, yes—rehearsal attendance is included in my full wedding package if it’s within the Amarillo area. If you’re planning a simple elopement or canyon ceremony, rehearsals typically aren’t needed—but I’m always available to talk through the flow in advance.
What do we need to bring to make it legal?
All you need is a valid Texas marriage license, which must be obtained at least 72 hours before the ceremony and is valid for 90 days. I’ll sign and return it to the county clerk for you after the ceremony.
What if we live in another state? Where do we get our marriage license?
If you’re getting married in Texas, you’ll need to get a Texas marriage license, no matter where you live. You can apply for it at any county clerk’s office in Texas—it doesn’t have to be in the same county where the ceremony takes place.
Here’s how it works:
- Both parties must appear in person with valid ID
- There’s a 72-hour waiting period after issuance (unless waived for military or other exceptions)
- The license is valid for 90 days anywhere in Texas
- After the ceremony, I’ll sign the license and return it to the issuing county for you
💡 Tip: If you’re traveling in from out of state for an elopement or destination wedding, I can help guide you to the nearest county clerk’s office and timeline everything to avoid hiccups!
Do you perform LGBTQ+ ceremonies?
Absolutely. Love is love, and every love story is sacred. I welcome and affirm couples of all identities and backgrounds.
