Today, we pause for more than a long weekend or a cookout.
Today is about remembering the brave souls who gave everything—not just for a country, but for the people they loved, the freedoms we cherish, and the future we get to keep building.
As the mother of a retired Army soldier and a retired Air Force airman, I’ve watched my children step up to serve with courage, strength, and pride. But today isn’t about those who served and came home—it’s about the ones who didn’t.
It’s about the folded flags, the gold star families, the empty boots, and the stories that still echo through generations. It’s about honoring their memory not just with words, but with lives lived in purpose, peace, and gratitude.
Marriage, love, and partnership all mean more when you’re reminded that freedom—like love—comes at a cost. So if you’re saying “I do” this week, or just sitting quietly beside someone who’s been by your side for years, take a moment to reflect. Hold them a little tighter today.
Because someone else’s sacrifice made that moment possible.
🕊️ In honor of those who gave all—and the families who still carry that weight—
We remember you. We thank you. We live for you.
☀️ Sunshine says:
The best way to honor the fallen is to live fully, love deeply, and never take a single moment for granted.
